The short version: Wordle collects nothing. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no third-party SDKs. Everything you type, every score you earn, every theme you pick stays inside the app on your Apple Vision Pro.
We don't collect:
The following data is stored locally on your Apple Vision Pro using standard UserDefaults:
None of this leaves your device. Uninstall the app to delete it.
When you start a SharePlay session, your guesses, scores, and player name are transmitted in real time to the other participants in your FaceTime call through Apple's GroupActivities framework. This data:
When the session ends, the synchronized game state is dropped. The other players retain only what their devices cached locally.
When a round ends, the app asks Apple Intelligence's on-device Foundation Models to generate a short definition of the solved word. This request:
If you're playing in a SharePlay session, the Game Master's device generates the definition once and synchronizes the resulting text (not the prompt) to the other players. The text travels through the same SharePlay channel described above.
The four word banks (Easy, Hard, Capitals, Countries) are bundled inside the app as static JSON files. We don't fetch them from a server, we don't update them remotely, and we don't track which words you've seen.
Wordle uses the standard SharePlay group-session entitlement to allow multiplayer sessions over FaceTime. No camera, microphone, hand-tracking, location, contacts, photos, or health permissions are requested or used.
Wordle is rated for everyone. We don't knowingly collect personal information from any user, including children under 13. If your child plays Wordle, no data about them leaves your device.
If we ever change how the app handles data (we don't currently plan to), this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect it. If a future version introduces any data collection, it will be opt-in and clearly disclosed in the app.
